19/01/2010 - NEW HOME FOR AAAA

AAAA has a new home. The leading body representing the automotive aftermarket industry has purchased a 231sqm strata office unit, which will become the National Office of the Association in March 2010.

The office is part of the Unipark business complex at 195 Wellington Road in the Melbourne suburb of Clayton, approximately five minutes drive from AAAA's current offices in Mulgrave. The complex is 12 months old and has six four-level towers, and basement and courtyard parking.

The venue also includes an in-house conference centre with full audio visual facilities and seating for up to 40 people, which will be used for member events and meetings. The AAAA office will have capacity to accommodate up to 13 staff and is located on the first floor of Building 3 in the complex. Major anchor tenants in Unipark include Cannon and Monash University.

The decision to purchase this office provides AAAA with a strong platform to leverage the future growth and development of the Association.

The recommendation to buy the office came as a result of a comprehensive review of our future accommodation requirements, which was instigated in advance of the expiry of our current lease.

The office provided an excellent buying opportunity, in a blue chip commercial development with significant potential for capital gain and provides us with the flexibility for expansion over time.

The purchase will also result in a lowering of our ongoing overheads as the majority of the purchase was financed from our cash reserves.

The AAAA management team will move into the new offices at Suite 16, Building 3, 195 Wellington Road, Clayton from Monday March 1, 2010.
