19/02/2009 - TEAMS FILING IN FOR THE 2009 SACHS MASTERS

Teams from some of the southern states' busiest automotive repair workshops have entered the 2009 SACHS Masters being held at the 2009 Australian Automotive Aftermarket Expo (AAAE) to be held at the Sydney Exhibition Centre from April 2-4.

Australia's only major national automotive technician team based skills competition, the 2009 SACHS Masters recognises and promotes the skills that exist in automotive repair workshops across the nation through a series of challenges that will be performed by each team using two cars on site at the 2009 AAAE.

Each three-member team will be required to diagnose, service and repair a range of faults, with highly experienced judges rating each team's performance over the three days of competition. All competition stages will be conducted during the 2009 AAAE, enabling thousands of Australian automotive technicians and executives to witness the competition as it progresses. The 2009 SACHS Masters Champion team will be presented with a cash prize of $15,000.

Current 2009 SACHS Masters entrants include teams from:

  • Platinum Automotive Care - Botany, NSW
  • Howe Automotive Engine Centre - Daylesford, VIC
  • Prestige Auto Traders Service Centre - Rozelle, NSW
  • BMW Sydney - Rushcutters Bay, NSW (4 Teams)
  • BMW Sydney - North Shore, NSW (2 Teams)
  • Worthington BMW - Central Coast, NSW

The 2009 SACHS Masters is organised by the industry for the industry. ZF Australia Pacific, one of the world's largest automotive component manufacturers and aftermarket suppliers, has taken the lead in organizing this unique event. The competition receives technical support from the University of Ballarat (TAFE Division), with sponsorship support from aftermarket industry leaders Repco, Motospecs and TechDoc, along with the Australian Automotive Aftermarket Associaton (AAAA).

Entries close at midnight on February 22 - don't miss out on this opportunity to showcase your workshop's automotive technical skills in front of your industry peers and customers at one of the country's largest automotive trade exhibitions. More information can be found at www.sachsmasters.com
