27/08/2008 - ALL SET FOR AUTO AFTERMARKET EXPO

Space sales for the Auto Aftermarket Expo – to be held at the Sydney Exhibition Centre Darling Harbour from April 2-4, 2009 – have exceeded all expectations and with seven months until the show launch there is already over 320 contracted exhibitors and less than 20 stands still available.

Confirmed exhibitors include most of the major manufacturers, importers and resellers of automotive parts and accessories, workshop tools and equipment in Australia. In addition, major manufacturers from Thailand, Taiwan, Malaysia and China will be featured on a number of international pavilions.

With a complete sell out of the 18,000sqm of available space now assured the 2009 Auto Expo will be the largest and most comprehensive showcase of aftermarket product ever held in Australia.

For the first time ever, the Expo will be offering all trade visitors free parking via a "Park and Ride" service which will operate from Harold Park Paceway in Glebe.

This will enable show visitors to park in a secure facility and avoid the traffic and high parking costs of CBD Sydney.

Courtesy buses will run a shuttle service between Harold Park and the Exhibition Centre every few minutes. In addition the Auto Expo will feature the Sachs Masters Skills Competition, which will provide the unique opportunity for teams of experienced automotive technicians to showcase their skills in a competitive environment.

Teams from across Australia will compete on a purpose built stage over the three days of the Expo where they will be required to service, diagnose and repair various aspects of a number of late model vehicles in a limited time (21/2 hours).

The Auto Expo will once again be held in conjunction with the 2009 Collision Repair Expo, which will include the major players in the Australian collision repair industry. With around 75 percent of space in this event now allocated, the 2009 Collision Repair Expo will feature the very latest in paint products and applications, chemicals and surface preparation products, collision repair tools and equipment, replacement panels, parts and frames, computer software and hardware, training and technology.

The Expo will include a Lowbake Spray Booth featuring live demonstrations by top suppliers such as PPG Industries, Akzo Nobel, De Beer, and 3M, as well as an international seminar series to update attendees on the latest trends and developments in the sector.

A comprehensive visitor marketing program consisting of trade publication and radio advertising, public relations support, telemarketing, direct mail and email reminders will commence soon with the target of attracting over 10,000 trade visitors during the three days.

Dedicated campaigns focusing on attracting workshop owners from regional NSW, interstate and New Zealand, combined with a range of competitions and industry functions and activities taking place in and around the show will compliment the trade exhibition.

Expo exhibitor marketing briefings will be held in Sydney and Melbourne during November and will be designed to ensure that all exhibitors are well prepared and able to leverage off this coordinated and comprehensive promotional program.

The Expo will once again provide the opportunity to showcase AAAA member companies to the wider industry by participation in the AAAA Awards to Industry Program and via a range of sponsorship opportunities.

Further information will be forwarded to members over the coming months.
AAAA also has access to a range of meeting rooms at the Sydney Exhibition Centre during the Expo so an opportunity exists for members to run an event concurrently.

Rooms will be allocated on a first-in-first-served basis.
For further information on how to make the most from your Expo participation please contact Michelle Vizzutti in the National Office on (03) 9561 7044.
