Three AAAA members have been inducted into the Victorian Manufacturing Hall of Fame.
Injectronics Australia, FMP Group and Lumen Australia were recognised for their contribution to the industry at a gala ceremony at the Crown Casino on May 19.
And Seamus Power, the Managing Director of the AAAA member company, Autoliv Australia, was awarded the AME Jim Watkins Award at the ceremony, for his significant contribution to the manufacturing industry.
State Industry and Trade Minister Theo Theophanous joined industry leaders to present the awards to Victoria's best manufacturers.
He said Victoria's automotive component manufacturers dominated the night, making up five of the 11 inductees to the Hall of Fame.
"This was no surprise considering Victoria's automotive industry is Australia's largest, employing more than 37,000 people and generating around $3 billion a year in exports," he said.
Companies from the aviation, design, textile, plastics and scientific sectors were also recognised for their contribution to Victorian manufacturing and exporting.
Mr Theophanous said the awards recognised Victoria's excellence in the industry and the importance of manufacturing to the state economy.
"Manufacturing is Victoria's largest provider of full-time jobs employing about 339,000 people or an impressive 12.8 per cent of the state's workforce and it contributes $29.6 billion to the Victorian economy," he said.
"(The) inductees fittingly showcase the excellence of Victoria's manufacturing industry and our exporting capabilities."
Since the inception of the Victorian Manufacturing Hall of Fame in 2001, the Victorian Government has recognised 88 companies, along with 17 Honour Roll recipients and five Young Manufacturers of the Year.
