22 June 2012 - AAAA led Trade Mission to Automechanika Frankfurt 2012

Following the resounding successes of previous trade missions to Automechanika Frankfurt, 2012 is set to be the biggest and best yet, with the largest National pavilion in over a decade.

The Australian National Pavilion will span almost 200sqm at Automechanika Frankfurt, to be held 11 – 16 September, 2012 in Frankfurt, Germany. A significant increase in sales is expected for participating companies in this AAAA led mission.

AAAA Senior Manager – Government Relations and International, Ben Bartlett said that the Australian companies that participated in the 2010 mission achieved multi-million dollar sales.

Automechanika Frankfurt is the world’s largest trade fair for the automotive aftermarket. Around 155,000 visitors from 181 countries attended Automechanika Frankfurt in 2010 breaking all previous records. Altogether, 4400 exhibitors from 76 countries presented their latest products and developments for the automotive aftermarket on more than 305,000 square metres of exhibition space. The sheer size of the 2010 Automechanika Frankfurt exhibition confirmed its role as one of the leading international trade shows for the automotive industry. Automechanika Frankfurt 2012 is said to be one of the biggest shows so far, completely occupying the Frankfurt Fair and Exhibition Centre.

“Australian aftermarket products are highly sought after in the global market because they are among the best in the world and are based on innovative technologies and are manufactured to the highest standards," said Mr. Bartlett. “At this event, the Australian National Pavilion has become a real ‘destination’. With daily happy hour networking events from 4pm, an array of Australia’s best manufacturers, teamed with their world class products, this Pavilion certainly generates a huge buzz around the show”.

Brent Hutchinson, Marketing Manager from Don Kyatt said “Automechanika Frankfurt 2010 was a pivotal moment in our exporting.  We had just dissolved a long standing agreement with our European distributor and the exhibition provided us with the opportunity to restructure our European network.  As our product was in a very mature stage, this would have proven near impossible without the help of the AAAA and our stand in the Australian Pavilion”.

Automechanika Frankfurt is a vitally important show for Australian companies to participate in, it is a truly international show, opening up opportunities in a wide array of markets with visitors not only from Europe in attendance. Some of the top 10 countries to visit Automechanika Frankfurt in 2010 included China, Great Britain and Turkey.

Steve Broad, Sales Director from Redranger said “the stand out for us was the amount of Eastern European enquiry we received. We went in expecting mainly German business but over ¼ of all our enquires were from Eastern Europe which is a market we take very seriously and has definitely been to our advantage”.
